Aidan's wait is over - he officially turned four years old on September 15th. Everyday (for what seems like forever) he's been saying "I'm being patient for my birthday." And he has - mostly. He's also been listing off what he wanted for his birthday everyday - usually several times per day. Needless to say, I'm glad his birthday has come and gone. Now the "patient" wait for Christmas begins. His party was so much fun - Thomas the Train was the perfect theme this year. He's so into playing with his engines and building tracks. His birthday wish list was full of all things Thomas. We are so fortunate to have the perfect venue for a birthday party - our church gym. We even have a train. Here are all the kids on the train - don't you love their hats?!
We can't celebrate four years without a look back to the beginning. Here's a picture of Aidan James on his very first birthday:
Perfection! His first year was full of firsts for his mom and dad. We had so much to learn, but he was a happy baby...well until it was time to sleep. This picture was taken just a few days after he turned one. Some of you will recognize Puppy...or maybe not. He's been loved on quite a bit since this picture was taken. He's such an important member of our family that he now has a tag complete with his name and our phone number. I can't even imagine what would happen if he got lost.
Here he is on his second birthday in his classroom at Young Children's World. That paci was hard to give up. I wouldn't say he was terrible, but I get where the saying "terrible twos" comes from. We certainly had our power struggles, but mostly he was a sweet toddler. We had his party at the Grace Museum, but those pictures are trapped in an external drive at Matt's office.
Three was a fun year. His party was loads of fun. We transformed the gym into a roadway system complete with a gas station and car wash. Aidan and his friends had a great time driving their cars and bikes around.
And finally, one more picture of the big 4-year old. This is going to be a fantastic year. Aidan has a terrific imagination and it is so fun to listen to him tell stories and watch him play. We are blessed to have him in our family!
