Snoqualmie Falls
Today was another super fun day! I did a little laundry this morning and then we headed to Snoqualmie Falls - just 25 minutes away. The Falls are actually 100 feet taller than Niagara Falls and are totally amazing. The first picture is from the observation deck right off the road. Looking down we saw a double rainbow - I didn't saturate the picture. It's just that amazing. Then, we walked down to the lower observation deck. It's a half mile walk down. Once we got there, we took a couple of pictures and then Matt "broke the rules" and climbed over the rail and went all the way to the base of the Falls.
Aidan was so worried about him! To cheer him up I told him we were going to see trains after we got back to the top - instant attitude adjustment! It was a long half mile back up. It was sunny and 85 degrees outside, which is HOT for this area. Down by the falls, it was nice and cool, but the hike up was toasty. Especially for Matt. He put Ella on his shoulders and looped the stroller through the back pack. Crazy!
Once back at the top, we headed to a nearby town - North Bend. It's where Twin Peaks was filmed. We ate at the diner that was made famous in the show. Then, we headed to the Northwest Railroad Museum. Aidan was in heaven. They had a lot of old trains, but you couldn't go inside any of them, which was disappointing. They did have a great bookstore and Aidan picked out a book all about trains.
It was a fun day! This evening we went to a Mariner's baseball game. I'll post pics and info about that later. Right now, I must sleep because we are getting up early to catch a ferry and cross the Puget Sound.
Enjoy!
